During the summer, many bathing establishments stay open until late in the evening offering dinners and musical events. One of the most eagerly awaited evenings is 10 August, the night of the shooting stars, where the entire coastline is lit only by the light of thousands of candles. Dinner on the beach is strictly in a white dress! A truly evocative event. From the Palla di Pomodoro, going up Viale della Repubblica, you arrive directly in the historic centre where you can find the main sites of cultural interest such as: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with its early Christian mosaics; the house where Gioachino Rossini was born; the Civic Museums with its splendid collection of Renaissance majolica and the altarpiece by Giovanni Bellini, an absolute masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance; Palazzo Perticari Signoretti, returned to its original splendour after 10 years of renovation; the Synagogue and much more.
