Living Stoccolma

Leaving the flat, you will arrive directly in the historic centre where you will find the main sites of cultural interest such as: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with its early Christian mosaics; the house where Gioachino Rossini was born; the Musei Civici with its splendid collection of Renaissance majolica and the altarpiece by Giovanni Bellini, an absolute masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance; Palazzo Perticari Signoretti, which has been restored after 10 years of renovation; the main square, the Rossini Theatre and much more. It takes only 10 minutes on foot to reach the well-equipped promenade, where we find the splendid Villino Ruggeri, an undisputed example of Art Nouveau style, and the “Tomato Ball”, now a symbol of the city. In addition to the monuments, the coastline is full of restaurants and bars of all kinds, ready to satisfy the needs of visitors. During the summer, many bathing establishments stay open until late in the evening offering dinners and musical events. One of the most eagerly awaited evenings is 10 August, the night of the shooting stars, where the entire coastline is lit only by the light of thousands of candles. People dine on the beach strictly in white dresses! A truly evocative event.
